Abstract :Representative of the collected poems under the title Rain Songs, these particular poems acknowledge the fundamental complexities of the human condition and experience. They convey such universal themes as despair, loneliness, errant love, infidelity, and the exoneration of the conscience. Okinawa is frequently the setting of these writings. Sometimes symbolic, sometimes poignant, these poems remind all of us how precious and fragile life really is, and, despite culture and ethnic orientations, there is a persistent message that as human beings we are considerably more alike than different.
