This is a copperplate printed book, consisting five volumes, and compiled by Fujifuchi Shin. The first four volumes are nautical charts, and the last volume is a description of maritime topography. The author is unknown. Originally, the first edition, published in 1868, consisted of two volumes without the topographical description. In this existing edition, published in 1872, two volumes were divided into four volumes, and the description volume was added. These five volumes are collectively entitled Dai Nihon Chūkai Zenzu. A brief summary of the book can be found in the second volume of Dōban Nihon Chizuchō Shūsei (Copperplate Printed Maps of Japan).
